The Wishing Place is a magical place where children with life-threatening illness can escape the rigors of treatments, transplants, and never-ending tests to request and be granted wishes. Sacramento's Wishing Place is one of only three in the entire country.
The American Public Works Association selected the Memorial Auditorium Job for Project of the Year in the Historical Restoration/Preservation Category, Construction Division 3 ($2 - $10 million). Unger Construction received 1st place Safety Award for the under 200,000 worker hours catageory for building contractors at the AGC of California 22nd Annaual Safety Awards of Excellence luncheon in Monterey on May 13th, 2009.
Pictured is a poster thanking Unger Construction for their donation to the California ![]() At the 2008 AGC Constructor Awards held at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, Unger Construction was named the award winner for "Excellence in Project Management - $5 million or below". This winning project submitted was the Sutter Roseville Medical Center Well Baby Nursery.
The project involved a 2,100 square foot building in the second floor central courtyard of the hospital, completely surrounded by pediatrics, oncology and patient care rooms, and directly above a 22 bed family birthing center!
